How listings are checked
Listings come from two places: contractor records in the public licensee file of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), and businesses added by their owners or their AI agents.
Before a listing is published
- Required details and their format are checked.
- Duplicates of existing listings are refused.
- Spam wording, repeated text and blocked categories are refused or held for review.
- The business has to be confirmed by at least one of: its own website showing its name, an active Florida Sunbiz registration, or a Google business profile.
- Anything uncertain goes to a moderator.
License status
For contractors, the license number, type, status and expiry date come from the DBPR file named on each listing. DBPR states that it refreshes these files weekly. Always confirm a license with DBPR before hiring.
Owner-confirmed listings
An owner can confirm a listing through an email address at the company's own domain, and then edit it.
Privacy
Street addresses are never shown. Anyone can report a problem with a listing from its page.
